Insocknia
SMART OBJECT APP | UI/UX | FIGMA
Insocknia is cozy tech for your feet with a focus on creating wonderful nights of sleep every time. This companion app is meant to work alongside a sock product that tracks different aspects of sleep. Through this, our users could control these aspects to curate their perfect night of sleep by utilizing a tracking system, a customizable alarm function and temperature control.
This playful and fun project focuses on accessibility as well as functionality for every day use. The icons and pages were made to be understandable upon first glance.
The Challenge
The users for this product would be people who have a hard time falling, or staying asleep due to poor temperature regulation and bad sleeping habits. In order to solve this, a series of functions for this app were created to alleviate or minimize these symptoms. This app was also created for anyone who struggles with falling asleep, which is why the mascot icon was developed as something that felt friendly and familiar, and positioned as a friend to help you.
As for other companion apps for products end up being confusing and plainly not useful. This app aims to change that through easy to use functions and data that actually changes how they use the product. This is done by utilizing data visualization in clear and easy to understand ways.
RESEARCH
Utilizing this research, I created a mascot of sorts to represent the brand. As an app you would use everyday and trust to assist you with one of the most important things you do I wanted it to feel approachable and comforting.
A smiling face was added to this mascot to bring in those feelings of friendliness and trust, and this style was applied to other aspects of the app as well. The color palette was also meticulously chosen to reflect those qualities as well through a soft dark background color and calming purples.
DEVELOPMENT
User Flow of the app to identify any pain points in direct comparison to the final screen flow.
